2 Squat Snatches @ 75% of A
Starting at 0:12, this video gives two slow-motion views of the snatch. Key points:
- Hips are low to start, and his hips and shoulders rise off the ground at the same rate (i.e. the back angle doesn’t change).
- Pause at 0:30 and check out his position at the knee cap. Shoulders are in front of the bar, and his back angle is STILL the same as when he started coming off the ground.
- Pause at 0:45. At full extension, his arms are STILL straight. He hasn’t lost power by bending his arms too early.
- Pause at 0:50. Feet are off the ground and moving into squat stance. He’s ACTIVELY using the bar to pull his body underneath into the receiving position.
