Snatch vs Power Snatch

What’s the difference between a snatch and a power snatch? Nothing more than the height at which you receive the bar. A snatch (full snatch or squat snatch) is received in the bottom of an overhead squat. A power snatch is received in a partial squat above parallel (meaning the hip crease is above the top of the knee).

A common fault is not pulling yourself low enough under the bar. This applies to the power snatch as well as the snatch. A power snatch still requires you to aggressively move your feet into your squat stance — you’ll just catch the bar a little higher.
