*** REMINDER: The gym will be closed following the 7:00am class Friday, June 10 through Sunday, June 12. We will re-open as normal Monday morning, June 13. ***

Workout of the Day

A) For time:
Row 2000m

B) 4 rounds, not for time, of:
4 Depth Jumps
8 Standing DB Press
12 GHD Situps
16 Russian Twists

2000 Meters

Check out the video below of lightweight world record holder Henrik Stephansen pulling 2000m in 5:56.7! That means his average 500m split (the big number on your monitor that we refer to as “pace”) was 1:29.2… for 2000m! Even thinking about pulling that hard for that long makes me want to vomit. Amazing stuff.

Notice too at the start of the race that he pulls a “Power 10,” i.e. he takes 10 strokes right at the beginning to pull as hard as he can. He then settles into a more manageable pace (for him, anyway!) after that. We’ll discuss the use of Power 10’s in class.
